How do I schedule my Machine Gun Shoot?

How does pricing work?
Prices are listed on the "Gun Packages" and "All Guns" pages. The rental price includes the gun and ammunition. For example, the MP5 rental is $30 and includes 30 shots. If you want to fire 60 shots with the MP5, the cost is $60. We can provide a custom package if you desire. Contact us for special rates for large groups.
Is there a minimum to come shoot?
Yes. We have a set minimum due to the time required for travel & setup. This is the same for us regardless of the group size (Including just one shooter):
Lead Farm - Windom minimum: $300 per Group
TDSA Range - Ferris minimum: $500 per Group
What is provided?
We provide targets and the use of our eye and hearing protection.
I have never fired a machine gun. Is that okay?
No problem! Several of our shooters had never fired a machine gun before coming to us. Some had never fired a gun at all! You will receive personal instruction on how to hold and fire machine guns before shooting.
How long will it take?
That depends on the group. Most groups finish in around one hour. Large groups often take much longer depending on how much they shoot.
Can I bring my own ammunition for the machine guns?
Sorry but no customer supplied ammunition is allowed.
Can I bring a camera?
Yes!!! We encourage everyone to bring a camera and record the fun! The pictures and videos are priceless afterwards.
What targets are available to shoot?
Lead Farm: Steel, Paper & Soda Bottles (Additional Charge $25/5 Bottles)
TDSA Range: Paper Targets Only
Can I bring my own target to shoot?
Yes but only paper targets. NO TANNERITE!
Is there a minimum age requirement to shoot?
Shooters must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. We may place limitations on the firearms they are allowed to shoot based on their physical size, skill, and maturity.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring your own snacks and drinks. We strongly recommend wearing dark clothing due to the gun oil.
Do I have to be a US Citizen to shoot or observe?
You do not have to be a US citizen but you must be in this country legally.
Can I just come to the Shooting Range?
You must have a reservation with us to shoot our machine guns or we will not be there. We must know in advance what guns to bring.
However, if you are simply looking for a range to shoot your own guns:
The TDSA Range in Ferris, Texas allows "Day Passes" if the range is not busy. We recommend you call them first at 972-217-1182 (Owner Len Baxley) before going.
The Lead Farm in Windom, Texas is a private range closed to the public. The gates remain locked unless an event is scheduled.
What is the "Range Fee"?
Lead Farm Range Fee: $10 Per Shooter
TDSA Range Fee: $30 Per Shooter
Can I keep any of the equipment?
No. All machine guns, silencers, magazines, ammunition, and equipment are the property of Defensive Arms Academy and may not be kept by customers. Any unused ammunition will be retained by Defensive Arms Academy.
Can I rent a machine gun and take it home with me?
No. An employee of Defensive Arms Academy must remain with the machine guns at all times.
How do I pay for my Machine Gun Shoot?
You will receive an invoice with a link for payment by credit/debit card. Payment is required to confirm your reservation. Please contact us to discuss other payment options for corporate events & special circumstances.
What if I need to cancel my Machine Gun Shoot?
We understand it may be necessary to cancel your Machine Gun Shoot for a variety of reasons. Cancellations in advance incur a 25% fee. However, no refund will be given if you simply do not show up on the scheduled day of your Machine Gun Shoot.
Inclement weather (flood, tornado, wind storm, hail, ice) may require rescheduling at our discretion with no additional fee. We do not reschedule due to rain and provide canopies if possible, in those circumstances.
